music: the rapture, i need your love

ok so i am at my computer now.

the past few days have been nothing short of glorious, exciting, cute, etc.
geoff came to stay with me here in blvl for three days and two nights! since my parents are gone on vacation to florida for a couple of weeks (HALLELUJAH). i can't even begin to explain how great it has been.

on wednesday i went to pick him up in peterborough, about an hour and a half away. i was super late because i accidentally slept in and had some last minute cleaning to do. i was nervous again too for some reason, weird. we made some time at his place, tried to watch a movie. then we drove around downtown and went walking around there. he showed me some rad used record & bookstores. ptbo reminds me of kingston, a lot. it's really really pretty, actually. we took a walk down this trail near the water and talked a lot. found the BEST bookstore EVER. i spotted the cutest little book about goats or bunnies or something, it was like hand drawn by some local, it was rad to find. books were just scattered from floor to ceiling, it was the coolest bookstore i've been in. and most disorganized.
we walked around the shitty mall they have and went out of our way to give mean looks to the town misogynist
...(you bastard)

so then we drove back to blvl, where geoff was so privileged to have witnessed my spazzy insane driving. according to him, it is fun (thanks geoff!). much better than "it's nauseating" (thanks alex!)

on the way back we drove through cambellford, this TINY little city, and i turned to go on hwy 30 and geoff's all "omg is that a JAMBOREE!?!?!" and i'm all fucka what! and he's all excited so i pulled over and BOOM right on the corner we were turning, what are the chances that a fucking JAMOBOREE is going on
so we parked and ssschecked it oaut
there were like hundreds of white haired old people and then us, it was pretty hilarious. old people shaking their asses to accordians and trumpets and stuffs. it was great. we should've danced.
then we walked around there and looked at houses
flyers for "scrap metal", a band comprised of grungy eight year olds who like to take photos of themselves in junk yards MADE that city
we got excited over weirdo buildings only to find out that they were boring shit like bell canada or something
it was a derive, for sure
ANYWAYYY we had NO clue where we were and just explored &discovered
yeahyeahyeah
i'm gonna do that more often! it was fun with geoff too, cuz he has this weirdo thing for small city life and did a big photo series on it, so he was all enthusiastic the whole time
got back to my hut and i gave him a little tour. we watched a movie or two and then everything else just sort of... blended in. ha
oh we went out for dinner and a few of my friends showed up and kind of embarrassed me haha "are you two on a date?" i was all "OH HI MOM!" yeah it was annoying. like we're just trying to have a nice dinner together, and then all these people are bugging me about going to like fucking wonderland next month or something! jeeeez guys. they finally left us alone, but sent over a strawberry milkshake with two straws in it for us hahhah oh my god
it was hilarious
my friends are great

and actually they don't know about geoff so i'll have some explaining to do

anyway, dinner was awesome... while i was eating it.
i paid for us cuz i am kewl and III was taking HIM out
so yeah a few hours later i ended up in the washroom throwing it up. i'm not sure what happened cuz geoff got the same thing as me and he was fine, so it wasn't food poisoning.

anyway! then we went back to my house and relaxed and watched another movie and etc the night was beautiful and we ended up going to sleep at about 5am. it was really nice to sleep next to someone.

thursday!!!

geoff wore a shirt that says 'artists have more fun' spray painted on it
hahah what a babe
unfortunately it rained but i took him downtown anyway and we went to some bookstore. then it started POURING and we ran downtown from store to store. it was funny and we got SOAKED. we were having trouble running because we were laughing so hard
went to a secret hidden underground art gallery that i JUST found out existed and it is so awesome and surreal!
didn't go the rose garden because of the rain.
later that night we went out to myer's pier, you can go out on these rocks that take you right out into the water. sounds corny but it was actually very romantic because there was a sunset and little ducks and everything
AHAHA... SERIOUS
at one point i said "omg you are cuter than kittens!" and he said "well you are cuter than bunnies, kittens, and puppies, playing together in bowties in a field of poppies!"
walked around the east end, and then went out to dinner at like 10pm, got fake mad at each other

came home and watched a movie for REAL, and that was sixteen candles
g loves the molly, and who doesn't? i liked seeing it again.
went to sleep at around 4am that night. got about 5 hours of sleep! yay
he brought a bottle of wine and we had that.
lazed around in bed until 1pm, ticklefests, had the showers, and i decided to come back with geoff to ptbo to hang out and he wanted to take me out for dinner
i wanted more time with him, so i didn't mind driving at all.

he has a radio show called calling all enthusiasts with his friend lee. (92.7 fm every friday 6-7pm! if you live in ptbo area. it's a GOOD show. mostly no-wave). we went back to his place, but had to make the show. we ended up being late, but luckily lee and his girlfriend emily were there already, so he didn't get in trouble.
we went to this little house and that's where the university students run the station. it was probably one of the coolest things i've seen. ever. geoff introduced me to lee, who is really rad, and emily is super nice. we really hit it off.
anyway, lee and i picked the songs and then geoff and lee did most of the talking. it was really impressive to see geoff do that, he's really relaxed and just talks about wahtever and it's cute.

geoff kept making up lies, it was hilarious. this week he talked on air about how kylie minogue died in a car crash on thursday night, talked shit about their show's sponsors, etc

ie "so lee, i hear those holiday inn people are racist fuckers"
ie "and also, on a completely unrelated note, our real estate sponsor is actually a huge asshole" emily and i did some talking on air as well and told some stories. geoff and i talked on air too

BEST THING EVER: lee played my arab on radar selection (samurai fight song) over the holiday inn ad, like in the background of the ad. and then the big hairy owner dude came in PISSED, told us "PLEASE DON'T PLAY MUSIC OVER THE ADS" he slammed the door and we were laughing so hard. hearing arab on radar behind a woman talking about the luxuries of the holiday inn is FUCKED i also played weird war, liars, les georges leningrad, gogogo airheart, i forget what else? just whatever i picked up before we left home. anyway, it was such a fun time!
geoff really impressed me, it was cool

then we all went out for cokes. lee is kind of weird and it's rad, but a little intimidating. his girlfriend is cool too, she was telling me about this artshow she did yesterday and got like $90 for one of her test prints. super rad

then geoff and i walked home and said byebye. almost cried
he lent me chicks on speed, gave me a couple smiths records (but i'm giving them back), the cure, gang of four, dat politics, he lent me about 13 records or something so i won't list them all, but i'm excited about them. also lent me an extra receiver he had so now i can listen to records now!!!!!
yay!

i think i am going to visit him again next friday or saturday.
they were probably the best three days i've ever had.
highlights were being on the fucking rad radio show! &myer's pier! &...geoff!
it's weird because i was worried about spending 3 days/2 nights with someone and being around them constantly and that i might get annoyed (i like my alone time) but i really enjoyed every moment of it. geoff is cute and really fun. quite beautiful too.
he made me this mix cd with hearts on it. it's very good.

i really want a cd burner so i can make my friends cds and stuff.

yesterday i worked and it was brutal. all that lack of sleep finally kicked in. i went to the grocery store the other night adn i felt really weird in there, like i didn't belong or like everyone was looking at me funny. i feel like i am too young to be grocery shopping, but that's not true at all
it'd be nice to do a painting or something today, but i'm not feeling very inspired at the moment.

i sign up for my courses super soon eeek
i'm not sure if i'm gonna do spanish now, it conflicts with my women's studies course which REALLY sucks. there's no way i'm not taking women's studies
i'm excited about philosophy! i think my goal is to be a professor.
i'm going to read and then watch a movie today and then listen to some of g's records

ok tata p.s. i just realized i missed the 25th show in belleville!!! with fucking makeshift!
but oh well. aint not thang
i think i'm seeing ocp on the 27th with some friends
